Questions
Is this really a one-time payment?
Yes. There is no subscription and no renewal. Once you have paid, nothing expires and nothing gets locked. If you come back in four years to record more, you buy more hours then, and everything you already made is still there waiting.
What happens if we run out of hours?
Nothing disappears. You can add six more for €29 whenever you want, or make the book with what you have. There is no deadline.
What if we start and my mother loses interest?
It happens. You will know after one conversation whether this is something she enjoys. If it isn't, you have 30 days to change your mind and get your money back.
Is there a deadline?
No. Nothing starts counting down when you pay. Some families record everything in a month, some take two years. Both are fine.
Does my mother need an app or an account?
No. You run Told on your own phone or laptop, and she just talks to you. She never has to install anything, log in anywhere or learn a new tool.
Does the AI interview her?
No. You interview her. You sit together, you ask the questions, and she talks to you. Told listens in the background and suggests what to ask next when the conversation needs a nudge. She is never talking to a machine.
Do we have to be in the same room?
No. It works in person or over a call, whichever suits you.
Who can read the stories?
Whoever you invite, and no one else. Family members you add can read the chapters as they appear and suggest questions for next time. Nothing is public and nothing is shared without you.
What if the book turns out long?
Then it turns out long. There are no page limits and no per-page charges, however much she has to say.
Can we do both parents?
Yes. A second storyteller is €69 and gets their own hours and their own book.
What if I want more copies for my brothers and sisters?
Extra hardcovers are €44 each, any length. Order them together and they ship as one parcel.
Can I give this as a gift?
Yes. Gift cards are available at €79 and €149, and the person you give it to picks their own date to start.
What happens to the recordings?
They stay in your account, permanently. You can download the original audio at any time. If Told ever shut down, you would get 90 days' notice and a full export of everything.
How long does the book take to arrive?
Within 20 working days from ordering, printed in Europe and shipped from within the EU.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If you change your mind within 30 days of paying, for any reason, you get your money back in full. Just email us. The one exception is a printed book: once your hardcover has gone to print we can't take it back. If it arrives damaged or misprinted, we reprint it free.
